Mary Fox, CCDP
Executive Director, Community INC

Manager - Client Services, Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Mary joined our team in 2010 as a Case Manager and accepted the role of Executive Director in 2015. Mary has her Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from NSCC, and a BA in Economics from Acadia University. Mary also has training in Solutions Focused Counselling, Counselling Skills I and II, Intro to Employment Services, Job Development Management, Board 101, HR Essentials and Gender, Sexuality and Gender Expression Awareness. Mary has been working in the social services field since 1997.

Brenda Main
Manager - Operations, Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Brenda is responsible for financial management of the contract, site management, on site partner management, occupational health and safety and IT oversight – in addition to community partnership development. She has her Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies (University of Western Ontario), BA (Medieval Studies) and certificate in Records Management (University of Toronto). She has additional training in areas such as Board Governance 101, HR Essentials I and II, SafeTalk, Mental Health First Aid and Human Rights Awareness. Brenda is also the Executive Director of CMHA-Kings. The Nova Scotia Works programming that we are delivering is a partnership between Community INC and CMHA-Kings.

Michelle Ferdinand
Case Manager, Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Michelle joined our team on October 2016. Prior to that Michelle was the Case Manager for CMHA-Kings for 16 years. Michelle has a BA Major in Sociology (Saint Francis University), Human Services Worker Diploma (NSCC) and is working towards her Bachelor of Community Studies (Cape Breton University). She has additional training that includes: mental health champion, mental health first aid, needs assessment certification, Applied Suicide Intervention and SafeTalk, How to Deal with Difficult People, Addictions / Gambling 101, Non Violent Crisis Intervention and Motivational Interviewing.

Elizabeth Spencer
Employment Maintenance Worker (Job Shared Position), Nova Scotia Works - Kentville


Elizabeth  joined our team in 2013. She worked as our Front End Case Manager before accepting her new role as Employment Maintenance Worker. She has an academic background in Office Administration (NSCC) and has had extensive employment services related training through her past employment (5 years) as a Facilitator and Case Manager with MetroWorks. Elizabeth has also assisted in the Dress to Impress program and is a Co-Facilitator in the Spotlight on Employment program - funded by the NS Department of Community Services.

Shawn Fletcher
Employment Maintenance Worker (Job Shared Position), Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Shawn joined our team in March 2016 for a term position as a Case Manager and then returned for his current role as an Employment Maintenance Worker in the fall of 2016.

Promoting positive social and economic growth in our community, are passions of Shawn Fletcher, an Employment Maintenance Worker with Community Inc. / Nova Scotia Works. Post-secondary studies include both Sociology and business, which he has put to good use in his extensive career as an entrepreneur, business owner, community worker, at risk youth counsellor, residential support worker, Recruiter, Job Developer, Career Practitioner, and currently as an Employment Maintenance Worker.  Shawn’s experience has allowed him to showcase many skills and qualities, which we are sure will benefit your employment needs.

Richelle Brown Redden

Job Developer, Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Richelle joined our team May of 2015. She graduated with honours from NSCC’s Addictions Community Outreach advanced diploma program. She also holds a BA with a major in Sociology (Acadia University). She is skilled in motivational interviewing and has a client focused approach. Richelle also has training in Job Description writing and Job Development. Richelle believes in lifelong learning, which is why she chose to return to school to further her education after being in the workforce for many years. As a job developer, Richelle works one on one with job ready job seekers who are facing market perception barriers such as disability, race, gender, age, sexuality, family background, socioeconomic status, country of origin and religion. She works with the job seekers and employers to match opportunities with job seekers to optimize success for both.

Holly Woodworth
Information Resource Specialist, Nova Scotia Works - Kentville

Holly joined our team on October 2016. She worked previously as an Administrative Assistant with CMHA-Kings. The IRS offers information on available services, assists with job search support – resume, cover letter and assisted job search, gathers initial intake information and begins the assessment process. Holly has a BA with a major in Women’s and Gender Studies (Acadia) and additional training in Mental Health First Aid, Sexuality and Gender Awareness, Universal Design (in progress), Bully-Free Workplaces and NS Human Rights Training.

Mark Eastman
Book-Keeper / Administrative Assistant

Mark joined our team on October 2016. Prior to that he worked with CMHA-Kings for 2 years. Mark has a Computer Science degree (Acadia University), a Small Business Accounting certificate (Fleming College) and is currently working towards his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification. Mark has additional training in Mental Health First Aid, Universal Design (in progress), Bully Free Workplaces, and Nova Scotia Human Rights Training.

Mark is responsible for accounts payables and receivables, payroll, benefits administration, financial reporting, assists with IT support and performs an array of administrative duties.
